ABOUT
A creative home for the work between story and structure.
Chakana Productions is the creative home of Johvan Padilla - a place for films, marketing work, and story-driven projects built with memory, intention, and a little restlessness.
ORIGIN
My path into creative work has not been linear (or maybe it has). Filmmaking and creative undertaking has been a part of me since grade school, but many right turns made it so I spent years in sales, recruiting, business development, and operations before moving more directly into marketing, content, and creative strategy. That background still shapes how I work. I first and foremost care about the story, but I’m also away of whether or not the things can actually be built, shared, understood, and carried forward.
THE STUDIO
Story needs structure. Structure needs soul.
Chakana exists for projects that lives between disciplines.
I’m drawn to the space where feeling meets form. A film needs atmosphere, but it also needs a plan. A campaign needs strategy, but it needs a reason to exist. Chakana is where those tensions can live together - story and structure, image and system, memory and motion.
THE MARK
A frame between worlds.
The Chakana symbol grounds the studio in a visual language connected to Andean memory and my Bolivian heritage. I want the mark to feel less like decoration and more like an object with purpose - something unearthed, carried forward, and made new through the work itself.
In this version of the mark, four directions gather around a central frame.
NORTH
Story: The woven path. The thread, memory, script, and emotionally connective tissue of the work.
EAST
Image: The sun-window. The frame, light, composition, and visual language.
SOUTH
Systems: The Terrace steps. The craft structure beneath the work: planning, production, rhythm, and process.
WEST
Audience: The spiral. The work leaving the creator, finding people, and continuing beyond its origin.
